一位失业的单身母亲。带着两个孩子。
法院判定她没有抚养孩子的经济能力，将她的两个孩子强制关进了儿童收容所。
她哭叫着：“请不要带走我的孩子！……我在两天后就有个面试……我一定能够找到工作，我发誓……”
她像只发疯的母狮，试图留住她的孩子。可是无济于事。穿制服的人拆散了她们。
她在空荡荡的家中流泪。抚摩着孩子的玩具，想念她的孩子们。
她偷偷混入儿童收容所，抢回她的孩子。
从此，就开着一辆随时会抛锚的破车，与她的两个孩子，四处流浪。
她在饭店里，看着孩子们吃饭。孩子们很兴奋，吃饱了，很满足地拍着肚皮。她高兴地笑着，比自己吃饱了还高兴。她偷偷检查口袋，只有寥寥几个硬币。她很惶恐，没有钱为孩子们付帐……
孩子们很满足。只要跟母亲一起，流浪也是快乐的。
她和孩子们就在车里睡觉。在车里一起读书。在车里快乐地打闹。车行在没有方向没有目的的公路上。
在海滩上玩耍，吹着美丽的肥皂泡。
孩子们在廉价的旅馆睡觉。她守在门口的台阶上，啃着冷硬的食物。
最后的一幕：汽车抛锚了。她怀里抱着一个，手里牵着一个，在向过路的卡车打手势请求搭车。卡车远去。这时画面暗了下来。全曲完。
——她搭了车，又能上哪儿去呢？一个流浪的母亲。

一直以来我也很疑惑的 究竟1916的爱尔兰发生了什么

北爱尔兰的新教徒与天主教徒之间的冲突由来以久。1916年的“复活节起义”唤醒了爱尔兰人的复国热情，经过长期的斗争，他们于1920年争取到了《爱尔兰政府法案》，把爱尔兰岛分为两个行政区，每个行政区都享有有限的内务自制权，这为将来的宗派之争埋下了隐患。1949年4月18日，26个郡宣布独立，英国承认了爱尔兰共和国的身份。其余6郡仍归英国管辖，即北爱尔兰。
每年六七月间都是北爱尔兰的宗教冲突多发期，因为占北爱尔兰人口大多数的新教徒在这一时期都举行传统的游行活动——“奥伦治大游行”，该活动是为了纪念新教国王威廉三世（又称奥伦治·威廉）于1660年打败天主教詹姆斯二世党人的博因战役。但由于游行要经过天主教聚居区，因此引起天主教徒的强烈不满，并屡屡引发冲突，导致局势紧张。
北爱尔兰的本土土族占人口的40%，英裔后人占60%。
19世纪成为英格兰的第一块殖民地后，双方就开始不停地斗争。
